Elvina Hall penned the words to a hymn titled ‘Jesus Paid it All’.  The chorus says, “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, Sin left a crimson stain, He washed me white as snow”.  Everyone that has every been on this earth, except Jesus, has done something wrong, something that was not allowed in the eyes of God.  Some may have committed a few sins that did not seem too serious, other many sins that may seem major.  Whether they seem big or small, many or few, they are still sin, and we all have committed them.

Elvina’s hymn echoes the assurance from the Bible that we need to know.  No matter how great our sin, Jesus paid it all.  We still have to acknowledge and accept His payment, but it is done.  The payment for my sin is complete.

Romans 5:8 tells us, “But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (NET)  He died for my sins while I was still in the mire of them.  He made payment in full because I was unable to do so.
