Can you imagine living is a place called ‘El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula’ and having to write that on an envelope each time you mailed a letter.  Well many people do live there, but they never use the full name.  Most probably don’t even know the full name of Los Angeles, or even shorter, L.A.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysil, now there’s a name.  It’s in Wales and is commonly called Llanfair PG.  Both of these place names have a specific meaning when translated into English.  Can you imagine wanting to go to these places and having to write the full name over and over.

The next place I want to go has a much simpler name, Heaven.  When translated from either Hebrew of Greek is simply means a lofty place, but the Greek also implies the abode of God.  That is what matters to me.  If God is there, that’s where I want to spend eternity.  A S Bridgewater wrote a song called ‘How Beautiful Heaven Must Be’.  It’s beauty will be nice but that is not why I want to live there.  I simply want to be near God.
