Pleat deatailing in fabric and garments is my all time favourite. I'm the kind of girl that would prefer texture and embellishments in my clothing, rather than pattern. For this outfit I thought, why not combine the two!?

My favourite thing about pleats is the movement in them, it makes me think of those dresses worn in the dancing scene of any movie when the women are being spun and twirrled around and the skirts flow and expand like a flower. I used to love doing that when i was little, spinning in circles to see how wide the hem would go.

This skirt is a more everyday, sophisticated take on that style, it is fitted on the hips and then flows with pleats to a mid length. and the beautiful chevron pattern and bold colours create an optical illusion.

The blouse is one that ihad to buy when i found it! It was a size too big but I loved is so much that I just had to, (we've all been in a similar situtation, buying something cute despite the fact that it doesn't fit haha). I also knew it wolud look great with a looser look, even paired with boyfriend jeans. I love a good t-shirt style blouse and the fact that this one had pleats on the sleeved sold me, and I always love a blouse with a placket front to concele the buttons.

For accessories I had this ruched bag that perfectly matched the fushia in the skirt. This bag has so much amazing texture and a sparkling broach. I went simple for shoes with blush heels, and then spectacular with these tortoise cat eye sunglasses with pink polarized lenses.
