When times are good, or everything around you seems to be falling into place or everything is sunshine it’s easy to lift up the name of God and praise Him.

Our true character comes forth when times are not so good, when things seem to be falling apart and all we can see is darkness.  Can we praise Him in these times also?  That’s what He wants us to do.  Psalms 146 begins “Praise ye the Lord”.  In Psalms 148 angels are told to praise Him, along with the sun, moon, stars, heavens, mountains, hills, trees, cattle and people of all ages.  All of creation is commanded to praise Him.  We often tend to praise Him because of our circumstance but we are to praise Him because of who He is regardless of circumstances.

Psalms 150:2 says, “Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.” (KJV)  If you read all of this psalm you will see that we are to praise Him in constant celebration.

Take some time to shout praises to Him, simply because He is God.
