"Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least." ~ Goethe.

At times we must stop, breathe, take a step back and decide if this battle is worth fighting.

We must decide if we can accept a situation the way it is, even if we don't like it or if we must engage and change the situation.

Does this really matter?

Is it likely to change even if you engage all your energy in trying to change it?

Is this battle worth fighting?

We sometimes put all our energy into struggling with issues that don't really matter.

At the expense of the things that do.

We have limited emotional energy.

How much energy do you spend struggling with drama and issues that really are not on your priority list?

How much energy do you spend trying to change situations that are unlikely to change?

Do you spend time and energy complaining?

Can you use that energy in a more productive way?

What really counts?

Who is really important?

Reflection at the end of each day on where we have spent our energy during the course of the day can help us make decisions on redirecting energy into more productive areas.
