PS Micellar Cleansing Water REVIEW Like 0 Twitter Aimee Louise Smith Follow Sept. 9, 2016, 5 p.m. in Life and Styles Views: 1663 Like us on facebook Micellar water, in my opinion, is an essential in anyone’s makeup collection. I find that it is softer on the skin than wipes and feels so moisturising on the skin. I finished the travel sized bottle of my Garnier one yesterday (review here) and wanted to try something new. Youtube has been full of “does *insert brand here* makeup work?” videos so I thought, “why not try an own brand?”. I decided on starting with Primark as that seems to be the most overlooked. The bottle is huge and comes with 430ml of product. The packaging is really pretty and has a soft pink ombre and lid. The price of the product is £2 which I find amazing, especially since the Garnier one is near enough the same price (£1.99) for just 125ml. The Primark Micellar water is also, I think, has rose water and vitamin E in it which has many benefits, such as: Rose water: Treats acne (antibacterial) Anti-inflammatory Rose water contains high amounts of vitamin C which can help protect skin cells from damage It’s extremely moisturising Rose water is a great toner which also helps tighten pores and restore your skin’s suppleness for a glowy look Vitamin E: It’s a great provider of moisture It’s a powerful anti-inflammatory This Micellar water definitely leaves your skin moisturised and feeling soft where as some can do the opposite. It also doesn’t leave an oily residue on your skin afterwards. I found it to take makeup off incredibly well and while it doesn’t claim to do so, it removes waterproof makeup with ease. I tried to show just how well it works in one swipe by putting swatches of all kinds of makeup products on my arm. Here are my results: Base products: Top to bottom: MAC StudioFinish Concealer, L.A Girl Pro Conceal, Benefit Hoola Bronzer As you can see, apart from the far edges that the cotton pad couldn’t reach, the products are gone. I didn’t apply a lot of pressure either as I wanted to see if it would require me to apply more pressure than I usually would on my face. Eye Products: NYX Eyebrow Gel, Collection Fast Stroke WATERPROOF Liquid Liner, Maybelline Gel Liner, MAC Eyeshadow, MAC In Extreme Dimension Mascara, Rimmel 100% waterproof Mascara In one light swipe, both mascaras, the eyeshadow, most of the collection eyeliner and most of the NYX brow gel had been removed. The Maybelline gel eyeliner took a little more work but I by no means had to scrub harshly. Lip Products: MAC Lipliner, MAC Matte Lipstick, NYX Liquid Suede, MUA LUXE Velvet Lip Lacquer, Dragon Long Lasting (matte) Lip Gloss I was very impressed by this set of results in particular and I find that lipsticks, especially liquid lipsticks, extremely difficult to remove. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to remove these products as well as it did for an own branded cleansing water. Boy, was I wrong! It completely removed the lip liner, MAC lipstick and the NYX Liquid Lipstick. The MUA and Dragon lipsticks come in close second but it was as I was expecting considering that they both seem to stain a little and are pretty stubborn as they are quite dark shades. Overall, I am over the moon with this product and I definitely think I will be repurchasing this again as part of my daily skin care routine. It makes my skin feel clean, moisturised and really soft!
