The Ramee group of hotels is famous all over with hotels in many locations, including #AplaPune. R-Adda is an in-house pub brand which was recently launched in their Pune hotel – Ramee Grand.

Very innovatively designed on a bike[r] theme, they had a lot of bike accessories adoring the place. In fact, a lot of their seating and serving objects too were bike related. Very eye-catching, I must say.

So when #TheBTeam were invited to cover the restaurant, we vroomed our way there.

Drinks

There were some very quirky names on the menu which caught our eye. Obviously a lot of thought has been put into coming up with creative names and it shows. A pan flavored drink named “Muchhadwala Mojito” since the word pan conjures up a pot-bellied moochh-wala bhaiyya latering kattha on the pans. An intensely potent cocktail named “Kadak Maal” and a green colored drink named “Herbal” – that is exactly the first word that pops into my head when I see a green liquid.

Chatpata [Rs. 420] had nice balance of tequila and pink guava with jalapeno and lime. Rim was coated with salt and aamchur which gave off an additional kick in every sip. #YumYum

Herbal [Rs. 420] had vodka, kiwi, mint and lime juice and served in a ceramic pickle jar. Nice blend of flavours which ticked all the boxes for me. #HighlyRecommended

Muchhadwala Mojito [Rs. 420] – Made with white rum, pan, green apple twist, mint and lime; this was one lip-smacking drink. Loved the overcurrent of pan flavor. #DeliciousDelicious

Muska Ferni [Rs. 420] – white rum, melon, mint and lime which was a combination [white rum and melon] which somehow did not work too well for me. I’d give that a miss.

The Kadak Maal [Rs. 1080] was hands down the winning drink of the evening. Served in a large 1 liter bucket, this one has a plethora of alcohols mixed with cola. Absolutely unputdownable. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended #DeadlyPotent

The teetotalers in the group also tried Lipstick [Rs. 240] with strawberry, mint and orange and the Orange and Basil Mocktail [Rs. 240] made with orange and basil with lime, sugar and soda.

Appetizers

We kicked off the tasting with a lot of delicious appetizers.

The Chatpata Baby Potato [Rs. 230] were tasty and went well with some of the cocktails we tried. The Chicken Popcorn [Rs. 300] was absolutely delicious. Soft and tender chicken chunks inside with a loud and crunchy coating. Perfect bite sized morsels. #YumYum

Crunchy Chicken Burger [Rs. 260] – This dish had 4 sliders arranged on a longish tray. Very pretty to look at, these babies packed a powerful flavor punch. Crunchy chicken patty and the soft bun with a spicy mayo sauce and the proverbial cherry on top. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended

The Jalapeno Poppers [Rs. 280] had a whole lot of gooey cheesy goodness but couldn’t taste the jalapenos much. The mayo served with it complemented it nicely. The Paneer ka Soola [Rs. 280] had some large chunks of paneer, perfectly cooked and nicely marinated in the spice rub. Served with mint chutney and onion slices which are the right partners for a paneer dish. Although the drizzle of mayo on the top was a bit flummoxing however didn’t twist the dish too much. #DeliciousDelicious

Mumbai ka Don [Rs. 170] were the quintessential Mumbai classic – the vada pav. Miniature versions of the vada pav served on a small handcart, this was one lip-smacking fare elevated by the chutneys used. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended

We also tried a few items in the tandoor section.

Accompanied by onion rings and mint chutney, the Tandoori Chicken [Rs. 560], the Tandoori Lollipop [Rs. 280] and the Tandoori Prawns [Rs. 700] all were amazing dishes. Perfectly cooked and appropriately seasoned, these were best had by hand so that one can enjoy licking their fingers after the dish is long gone. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended

Mains

The Cowboy Pizza [Rs. 300] had American corn, bell peppers, mushrooms, jalapeno slices and black olives with tomato salsa [Yee Haw!!!]. Generous amounts of toppings ensure a burst of flavors in every bite. #DeliciousDelicious

Loved their Thin Crust Killer Pizza [Rs. 340] which had Kurkure and crunchy chicken as toppings with sriracha sauce drizzled all over. Nice crunch of the kurkure worked well on a pizza. #YumYum

The Mutton Rogan Biryani [Rs. 400] was presented very nicely. Basmati rice in a saucepan with a bowl of red gravy-ed meat looked picture perfect. And the taste matched the looks. #MustTry

Dessert

Our meal finally ended with the ubiquitous Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream [Rs. 280]. A short cylinder of brownie coated with chocolate sauce and chips, this was one classic combination of flavors which always work.

An amazing new place which is fast becoming THE hangout spot for the youth, R-Adda offers something for everyone.

A big shout out to Sheetha for inviting us and Team R-Adda for hosting us.
