Coffee Warmer

If you have known me for longer than 5 years, there are a few things you would be able to call out.

1. Im inherently lazy, but can't stand  to sit still. This usually works out in my favor.
(Caption Picture: How I kept my coffee warm this morning while working... because getting up to reheat it just seemed like added unnecessary effort. #PatentPending)

2. I sometimes cry for dumb reasons... Mostly when people yell at me.

3. Im intolerably sarcastic. (Probably to make me feel better about crying so easily.)

4. I am spiritually balanced and equally stubborn. Which ironically creates a different kind of balance in my life.

5. I hate reading.

What a mix right!? Some find that hard to handle... But that is truly everyday life for me.

In the past 3-5 years though, I did some major soul searching. I felt lost in this great big world and needed to learn my identity amongst others. It was a scary journey that reaped great reward and out of it, I truly did find myself and my life purpose. So all in all, I made that soul searching my b*tch.

One of the MOST important things I learned throughout this period was, in order to grow, I need to gain as much knowledge as my brain could possibly allow. Expanding your mind can be difficult, especially if you hate reading. But as I realized that there are many ways to keep my mind tapped into the constant flow of information, reading was the easiest. So, I began to read more... why? Because I am inherently lazy. (See how this starts to come full circle).

There is also some pretty solid evidence that the more a person reads, the more successful they become. I don't mean financially successful, although that is the most popular way people define success, but spiritually successful as well. It's true, money doesn't make you happy, but I can safely say, it helps.

Just google "Successful People Read"... You will instantly find articles that contain Bill Gates' book list or an article about why reading can make it more likely for you to be successful. It's a hot topic. Also, EVERYONE claims to be an expert on something, right? Please, let me word vomit my thoughts and I guarantee I can make you millions of dollars. It happens...

A young and talented Private Equity Associate at a Big 4 company and friend of mine decided that we were going to start holding each other accountable by creating a booklist and Skyping every Sunday to discuss what we have read. Kind of like a book club, only better, because we are awesome and named it the Millionaires Book Club. Hint the sarcasm, because that is the least creative name ever, but what can you expect from a financial associate. He is a lover of science and psychology and I am a lover of spiritual development and manifestation. Together, I truly believe this creates a wonderful balance for anyone moving forward as an entrepreneur. If you read my latest personal blogon my Ring The World page, I speak to the belief of their being a Yin and Yang of everything. For example, in the personal world, you have to know hard times to appreciate the good times. Balance is necessary everywhere. Politics are always such a disaster because people only want to hear one side.. their side. Even if they were given the opposing side, they wouldn't want to believe it. Balance my friends, is key.

So because I am such a nice, giving person, I decided that I was going to share our first set of books with my followers. I also wanted to ask of recommendations from my fellow followers on books to follow and why.  And "because Bill Gates suggested it" isn't a good reason why. I really want to know why. Tell me what you gained out of reading that book. Did you like the writing style? Did it open up a door for you? Was it well rounded and unbiased? Really tell me why

So far, here is what is we have on our list. As we finish the books, I will give each of them a review and you can decide if you would also like to read it. I encourage anyone who is lost, damaged, or stuck to pick up a book that calls to them and just give it a try. If you look for it, ANY book, even a bad one, has a lesson in it for you. Stop looking for why it can't work and start looking for why it will work.
