Oxford, United Kingdom – Harry Potter

Christ Church College at Oxford University was the perfect fit for the old-world boarding school feels needed for the Harry Potter series. It’s gothic arches and ancient stone staircases served as interiors for Hogwarts, and the college's own version inspired the set of the Great Hall.

New Zealand – The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Tunisia – The Star Wars movies

Much-loved cult sci-fi classics, the Star Wars movies were partly filmed in a lo-fi hotel in Matmatat-Al-Qadimal, Tunisia. Named as Sidi el Driss, the hotel is pretty basic and geared towards either backpackers looking to keep it cheap or Skywalker fanatics looking to live the movie experience for real. Expect a tiny bed and a shared bathroom.

South America – The Motorcycle Diaries

The Motorcycle Diaries tells the story of young Che Guevara and the motorcycle journey across South America that showed him the country's many problems, and fed his desire for revolution. Follow in his tire tracks, and take a trip through Argentina, Patagonia, Chile, Peru's Machu Picchu, and Venezuela.

The lush tropical jungle-like locations of Jurassic Park are instantly recognizable, so much that Manawaiopuna Falls on Kauai, Hawaii is now mostly known as Jurassic Falls. Now best known as the fictional town of King's Landing, Croatia's Dubrovnik has a distinctly medieval feel, with marble streets and late-Renaissance buildings. It's also home to beautiful turquoise waters that are perfect for relaxing. Don't forget to visit the iconic Jesuit Staircase, otherwise known as the setting for Cersei's unforgettable ‘walk of shame' in the show's fifth season.
