I wrote the poem several years ago when my grandma's husband of 52 years died. This poem was written around 3 am the night of his passing, because I had a really hard time sleeping. I wanted to share it with you, because it is one of my favorite poems I have ever written. I hope you enjoy it.

Remember Me

Remember me when the skies turn gray
And there’s nothing left but the sounds of the rain
Remember me so our memories don’t fade
Because the best part were the children we made
Remember me as your life changes
And remember I am in your heart through all the stages
Remember me when you see birds fly
Know I am your angel singing in the sky
Remember me when you pick a flower
Because I know you loved me my last hour
Remember me when the grandchildren visit
Because I know it’s going to be more than pleasant
Remember me when you feel the sun
Because I am shining down from for beyond
Remember me when you don’t know what to do
Just remember we will be together again someday soon
Remember me when the gray skies turn blue
Because I was one lucky man to be married to you
