When I saw the hashtag #RunwayForAll on my Instagram feed, I didn't know how to describe the feeling that came over me. Whether shock, relief or glad cos finally DIVERSITY!

As a Filipina and Asian, I've rarely seen Asians running the catwalks of New York, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks. I've only seen Asians on Miss Universe pageants, but that was that. End of story. So I'm glad that finally...finally. Asians are getting represented in the fashion industry.

Here's Estelle, the Chinese model featured at the beginning of this post:

The world is saturated with its own standards of beauty, not even considering individuality and uniqueness. Washboard abs, biceps, sexy facial hair for the men; the rules are even more stringent with the women: cup B or higher, long blonde hair, long legs, tiny waist, high cheekbones, right eyebrow arch, blue eyes and if you don't fit into any of that, you're in bad luck.

But finally! A revolution to change standardized beauty, where diversity and imperfection are finally embraced!  I'm even hopeful that diversity will not just come in different colors, sizes and disabilities but also height! ! For petite girls like me I would be very happy! Maybe I would be the next model to take over the world?? (Lol lol lol)

Way to go, Instagram!
