'All around the world, something is happening to women when they fall asleep; they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed, the women become feral and spectacularly violent...

In the small town of Dooling, West Virginia, the virus is spreading through a women's prison, affecting all the inmates except one. Soon, word spreads about the mysterious Evie, who seems able to sleep - and wake. Is she a medical anomaly or a demon to be slain?

The abandoned men, left to their increasingly primal devices, are fighting each other, while Dooling's Sheriff, Lila Norcross, is just fighting to stay awake.

And the sleeping women are about to open their eyes to a new world altogether...'

This book was absolutly amazing.

I am a massive King fan so I went into this book with high expectation. It not only lived up to my expectations but thoroughly surpassed them. The size of this novel in daunting at first, but once you get immersed in the story it really does fly past.

With a book of this magnitude there is a lot of information and characters to get your head around early on. The character's introductions are perfectly spaced out and fit in with the narrative perfectly. This really helps the reader remember characters and their personalities as the story progresses.

Given the mystical element of this book, it is surprising how real and relatable the story was. The character's were three-dimensional and had their own personal reasons for doing what they were doing throughout the story.

I loved getting to see the different character traits arise as the story deepened. Both the good and the bad of humanity was on display in this book. As the lines between right and wrong blurred I found myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see how each character was going to react to the crisis.

I am yet to find a King book that I havent absolutly loved. Stephen and Owen King have done a fantastic job with this book. The love and hate, faith and fear, good and bad that we all possess, radiates off the pages of this amazing novel.

If you havent yet read this book you need to put it at the very top of your TBR pile.

Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King is an absolute must read book for everyone.
