Another one of my "bettering myself" goals (I guess you can call this that), is to build a better relationship with God and Jesus. I don't want to say that I have a bad relationship, but it could be a lot better. I'm also not looking to join a new church or anything like that, I'm actually very happy with where I worship. I'm just trying to grow in my knowledge, trust, faith, etc.

So, now that I have that established, here's what I'm hoping to do to grow closer to God.

1st, I'm going to pray everyday, and hopefully get out of the rut of saying the same thing in the same order day after day. Which means I should think about it before I actually say it. Or I could start a prayer journal. I haven't been too faithful (get it, bad joke!) in the past, but maybe that can be a way for me to get out of this rut. Do you have any suggestions for that?

2nd, I'm going to start reading the Bible more frequently than I have been. I'm the type of person where if I don't have questions that I'm trying to answer, like for a Bible study, then I don't spend time reading the Bible. Or if I do, I don't really retain the information that I'm reading. My husband and I have started reading it together when we have time and are both home. (He's an accountant so I'm lucky to see him these days). Maybe I can incorporate my Bible reading into my prayer journal? Someone PLEASE hold me accountable to this!

3rd, I don't know. There probably could/should be a third thing that I can do I'm just having a brain fart. Being sick and getting five hours of sleep will do that. If you think of anything else that I can do please feel free and drop me a line.
