Your home is your pride and joy. No matter where it is, whether it is bedsit or palatial mansion, you want it to be on trend and styled so that it suits you.

Interior design trends come and go. With this in mind, we have rounded up the latest trends coming our way this spring and summer. Which will you try out this season?

Leaf Wallpaper

Bringing the outside in has been a trend for some time now but we love the upcoming trend of vibrant and bold ‘leaf’ wallpaper. Create a feature wall - or, if this is too much, opt for single leaf prints clustered in groups of three on your wall instead.

Unpainted And Untreated Walls

There are some looks that remain perfect no matter what time of year. We love the resurgence of exposed walls but this season, there is a little twist. The true rawness is to remain so knock that plaster off, expose the brick wall and enjoy it in all its industrial glory.

The Modern Vintage Interior

Vintage is a style that is staying too, but with softer tones and pastel shades. Opt for ornate large patterned wallpaper in greys, creams and silver, teaming it with smokey pinks and pastel blues. Opt for wooden furniture with a soft look and texture to complete the picture.

Maps

Maps have always held a certain allure and we love the fact that interior designers are using large scale maps to create an interior feature wall. There are many online retailers who will print bespoke maps that you require, from maps of your local area to world maps that look simply stunning in any home.

Furniture And Technology Rolled Into One

We live in an increasingly connected age with technology playing an important role in our lives. However, the days of technology being separate gizmos and entities in our properties could be at an end with many high street and online retailers finding ways of combining tech with furniture. Speakers in upholstery, for example, that connect via Bluetooth to your music device are becoming commonplace in homes this season.

Hardwood Flooring

Getting the right flooring solution is important for any home. Thankfully, hardwood flooring like Kährs flooring is the ideal solution for any home. Perfect for keeping clean easily, hardwood flooring works well no matter what your taste of interior design is. Wood also works well with the exposed walls we talked about earlier…

Hexagons

Geometric shapes have been popular on and off for some time now, but we have noticed an increasing trend for anything hexagonal. From hexagonal rugs to tiles, to hexagonal inspired wallpaper and more. If you do one thing this season, opt for hexagonal shapes!

Designed To Order

Consumers have been tiring for some time of the ready-made and flat-pack furniture market, demanding more uniqueness, character and personality in various pieces in the home. There has, as a result, been a steady increase in the demand for bespoke or part-bespoke furniture. If your budget won’t stretch to a bespoke dining table or chairs, why not consider re-upholstering an item to give it a unique character, true to you?

Upholstered Headboards

Still on the subject of upholstery, a key look in the bedroom this season is a large, sumptuously upholstered headboard. You can invest in a whole new bed or get creative with a large piece of board, wadding, upholstery and a staple gun. Create your own headboard finishing the design with quirky upholstered buttons for the quilted look.

Small changes can have a big impact, which is why we have shown you a mix of affordable changes as well as larger investments for your home this season - which will you choose?
