George Duffield, Jr. wrote the lyrics to a hymn titled ‘Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus’.  It seems obvious but it is something that we often forget.  By standing up we are proclaiming the Good News that He brought into this world.  The news that He died for our sins.  We are to stand up in the market place and tell others of His goodness, something we know, but often either forget to do or avoid doing.  Why do we avoid this act?  Often we are afraid of what others may think of us.  This should not be of concern to us.  The only opinion that matters is that of Christ Himself.

Our job on this earth is to let as many people as we can know of the love of and saving grace that is in Jesus.  Mark 16:20 says, “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.” (KJV)  That is what the disciples did, that is what we are to do.  Notice how that verse ends, ‘with signs following’.  As we preach His word, we should see signs.  This would include salvations, healings and deliverances.  If we aren’t seeing them, we aren’t spreading enough of His Word.
