Week 5 in the NFL kicks off tonight as the 1-3 San Francisco 49ers host the 1-3 Arizona Cardinals. Let's take a look at the starters and see if we can find the right guys to start and the right guys to sit.

Quarterback:

Drew Stanton gets the starts for the Cardinals tonight as Carson Palmer is out with a concussion. I don't want to go anywhere near this match up; so I have Stanton as a SIT tonight.

Blaine Gabbert is another quarterback I have no interest in playing tonight or this week in fantasy. Arizona has one of the better defenses in the NFL; so I'm keeping Gabbert on the bench as a SIT.

Running Back"

David Johnson is actually a 3-down back and doesn't have to come off the field, but he will from time to time. Johnson should be the best play in this game; so he's definitely a START for me tonight.

Carlos Hyde is an up and down type of running back. He's the best offensive weapon the 49ers have and they need to find ways to use him even against this tough Arizona defense. I think Hyde will be a START tonight, but it's a close call.

Wide Receiver:

Larry Fitzgerald It seems as though everyone wants this to be Fitzgerald's last season, but he's still productive. This is more of a knock on the quarterback tonight, but I have Fitzgerald as a SIT tonight.

Michael Floyd is the deep threat for this Arizona team, but I'm not sold on the fact that he'll get those opportunities tonight. Again because of the quarterback I have Floyd as a SIT tonight.

John Brown is going to be a sneaky START for me tonight especially in a deeper league. Brown is the guy who works underneath and should find himself on the receiving end of some check down passes tonight.

Torrey Smith was brought in to be the 49ers #1 receiver and I'm not sure he was ever that guy. He still a deep threat, but doesn't get enough catches to be valuable. I have Smith as a SIT tonight.

Jeremy Kerley fits into this 49ers offense like Brown does for the Cardinals. I think he'll be a sneaky play tonight as well; so I have him as a START. Here's hoping Gabbert is looking for his check down guy tonight.

Quinton Patton is on here because the 49ers depth chart list them as starting 3 wide receivers. I'm not sure he'll get enough snaps to put up any numbers. This is an easy call SIT Patton tonight.

Tight End:

Darren Fells is mostly used as a blocker, but might get a look in the red zone especially with Stanton at quarterback. I don't think he'll get enough targets to use him tonight; so he's a SIT for me.

Vance McDonald is an interesting player in this game. I have him as a SIT tonight, but if Gabbert is under a lot of pressure McDonald could fins himself on the receiving end of a lot of dump offs.

Defense/Specials Teams

Arizona is one of the better defenses in the NFL and it's hard to believe as good as they are that this team is 1-3. I don't think the 49ers offense will be able to do much against them tonight. I think the Cardinals have a chance to hold them to under 10 points. START the Cardinals Defense/Special Teams tonight.

San Francisco is better on defense than a lot of the experts thought they would be. The loss of Navarro Bowman was a huge blow for them, but I'm not sure Stanton is the guy who can capitalize on that. This is a difficult decision, but I'm going to go with a START on the 49ers Defense/Specials Teams tonight.

I'm coming off a good week last week; so let's see if I can keep it going. Let me know who you're starting or sitting in tonight's game. Good luck and as always thanks for taking the time to read this article. We'll be back tomorrow to see how I did.
