During the heat of the summer, grass often becomes dry and lawns take on a brown hue instead of a vibrant green.  After a few good rains that soak the ground, that green tint begins to come back to the grass and it again looks as if life will return.

We too, can feel like that withering grass when the troubles of life begin to overwhelm us.  A dry, helpless feeling can overtake us.  Often we will look for that ‘refreshing rain’ to bring life back to our spirit but none seems to appear.

If we want our lawns to remain green we need to water them regularly.  Can we do the same with our lives?  Can we somehow find a refreshing rain that will bring vibrancy back into our lives?  The answer is yes, but we must first be looking in the right place.  In Acts 3:19, Luke tells us “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”  We need to realize that if we want refreshing, we must look to the Lord because it is from Him that refreshing comes.
