"Don't criticize them; they are just what we would be under similar circumstances." ~ Lincoln.

We can improve the quality of our relationships by increasing our level of understanding.

If we take into consideration another's view, their circumstances and perspectives from a sympathetic rather than a critical eye we can perhaps, minimize conflict.

Consider what might lie behind another's feelings.

How does their age or life experience influence the way they see this situation?

Do you think you may behave differently if you were in their position?

People generally do the best they can with the skills and resources they have at the time.

That is not to make excuses. Or say that they should not be striving to learn, grow and improve.

A little understanding sometimes goes a long way.

With the same life experience, skills or lack there of we may behave in the same way that we are currently criticizing.

Empathy.

Understanding.

Love each other well.
