I have to say I had a great weekend. The recent A Tribe Called Quest album "We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service" fell into my lap and I've been head-banging ever since. It starts with the song "The Space Program" which prepares us for ascension with a sound we are familiar with from the Tribe, consisting of Ali Shaheed Muhammed, Q-Tip, Jarobi White and Phife Dawg. It's solid piece of work with conscious-enough lyrics, bumping beats for you to follow and a tinge of comic relief by adding theatrical excerpts as samples. One thing for sure, each song has a solid kick drum in all of them, a perfect marriage with the West Indian twang in the wordplay of Phife, the Trini Gladiator. Can you tell I am a fan?!  It's a nice farewell to the late ATCQ member who died earlier this year, this album highlights the strength of all members. The album is a 2-part, 8 tracks each featuring: André 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, Elton John, Kanye West, Anderson Paak, Talib Kweli, Consequence and Busta Rhymes. Busta really busts on the track "Mobius", I won't lie is my obsession and "Black Spasmodic" just has a great Rock Steady vibe.

A great revival album indeed! 4.5/5
