I hope I never become
The old man in the button-up
The kinds old men wear
Sleeves short but too wide
Pillowing over khaki shorts
Shin-high sock and shoes
Made of brick - hoping for stability -
What creates these men?

I hope I never try to look identical
Like I just barely left the office
Making sure everyone knows
I have a professorial intellect
One that comes with school employment
And bad eye sight to sum it up

All I know is that my future
Is not one written in the monochromatic
Or one who holding onto regimes
Hoping to walk one day
And my back flexible the next
I want to break that mold
And become a man who shows
That life continues well into old age.
