Weird fact about me, my hobby is cleaning cars. I enjoy cleaning my car and there is nothing better than driving a shiny, clean car around! So today I would like to share some of my favorite car cleaning supplies with you. Trust me, I've tried almost every product out there and I know what's the best, what is worth splurging on, and what is worth skipping.

Note: I am writing this in the order that I would use it to clean my car.

Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner: $3.97 Walmart

Use: Pre-wash spray on for bugs, and tar.

I love Rain-X Bug and Tar Defense Pre-Wash Gel but it is really expensive for the amount I have to use to spray down the front of my car. (We have A LOT of bugs here.) My brother introduced me to Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner and I was amazed! I spray it on the front of my car just like I would have sprayed any pre-wash gel and it does the exact same thing! Simple Green is very affordable making it easy for me to drench the front of my cars for an easy clean. A 32 oz. spray bottle is $3.97 at Walmart and I plan on purchasing the gallon sized concentrated bottle on Amazon when I run low.

Microfiber Towels: $14.88 (pack of 6) Amazon

Use: Dusting car, drying cloth, buffing wax. (I also use these in my home for dusting furniture and cleaning windows/mirrors.)

Microfiber towels are perfect for dusting the inside of your car, hand drying your car, and buffing a good wax. These towels are a must have!

Turtle Wax Super Protectant: $5.80 Amazon

Use: For dusting and leaving a good protectant on your dash etc.

Turtle Wax Super Protectant is by FAR my favorite protectant for the inside of your car! I have tried at least a dozen different protectants and this one is my favorite. The inside of my car does not get as dusty as it used to, it's shinier, and it has a pleasant odor.

ShopVac Vacuum Cleaner: $55.27 Amazon

Shop Vac Micro-Cleaning Set: $18 Amazon

Use:  To vaccum out the 5 million Cheerios in your car.

I don't actually have a ShopVac yet. I currently just use my regular Hoover Vacuum Cleaner. But if you buy this ShopVac please let me know how it works!

Water Hose Nozzle: $19.95 Amazon

Use: For water pressure for rinsing the car.

I recommend you have some type of water hose nozzle so that you will have some extra water pressure. I have found that the nozzles made of metal tend to last longer.

Sponge: $5.93 Amazon

Use: To wash car with.

You can use whatever sponge you would like. I throw mine in the washer when I wash the rest of my car wash towels.

Bucket11.25 Amazon

Use: For soap water.

They make some really cool buckets for washing cars but I've never been picky. I tend to use whatever I have. I like my Home Depot Just Do It bucket because it makes me smile.

Turtle Wax Liquid Car Wash and Wax: $4.99 Amazon

Use: Soap for wash and wax.

This is my ALL time favorite wash and wax! It does a great job cleaning your car and leaves a nice wax on top. Note, if you do not hand dry your car DO NOT use this soap. It will leave tons of water marks if you let your car air dry. I highly recommend hand drying your car at the end of a wash because what's the point of washing it if you don't finish it?

Turtle Wax Chrome Polish & Rust Remover: $2.67 Amazon

Use: To remove rust, and polish chrome on car.

I have chrome tires and chrome on my running boards and this works like magic. The bottle is small but it goes a long way. I apply a small amount to an old bath towel, rub it on, and polish the chrome.

Tire Shine:

Use: Spray on for shiny tires.

These are my four favorite tire shines at the moment.

1. Armor All Tire Foam: $8.73 Amazon

2. Armor All Extreme Wheel and Tire Cleaner: $4.69 Amazon

3. Turtle Wax Wet'n Black Ultra Tire Shine: $5.99 Amazon

4. Turtle Wax Tire Foam and Shine: $9.24 Amazon

Viking Blue Microfiber Wax Applicators: $4.40 (Pack of six) Amazon

Use: Wax application.

These are perfect for applying wax. I throw them in the wash just like any other microfiber cloth and they come out perfect.

Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell Paste Wax: $3.92 Amazon

Use: Giving your car a wax/protectant.

I try to DEEP wax my car every season. Hand waxing your car can take some time but if you have a nice wax on your car it won't get as dirty as quickly and is easier to wash. Plus it will be shiny!

Miscellaneous Items:

Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound: $2.60 Amazon

Use: To clean difficult grime etc.

I use this for tar stains. You rub a little on, let it sit a couple minutes and buff it off and boom, your car is clean! I know a mom that had kids playing on scooters that left horrible black marks on the side of her van, she tried everything and couldn't get the marks to go away. But then she tried this compound and the black marks disappeared with almost no effort.

Turtle Wax Express Shine Spray Car Wax: $4.99 Amazon

Use: Quick wax.

I like to give the front of my car and the hood a little extra wax attention. This spray on wax is perfect for a quick touch up!

Armor All Leather Protectant: $4.47 Amazon

Use: To clean and protect leather seats.

I have leather seats so every once and awhile I give them a little tender loving care. This is great to treat leather that little shoes have been banging up against. It also smells really nice.

Sprayway Glass Cleaner: $2.95 Amazon

Use: To clean glass.

Sometimes I like to clean the glass on the inside of the car. (Hand prints are the best huh.) I've tried several auto glass cleaners but never been too impressed. I just use my regular household glass cleaner and my windows look awesome.

Carpet Cleaner:

Use: Clean the carpet.

Turtle Wax Interior Multi-Purpose Cleaner and Stain Remover: $9.55 Amazon
Tuff Stuff Multi Purpose Foam Cleaner: $8.99 Amazon

These two are my favorite carpet cleaners. I use them both. Note: If you have a carpet cleaner, or rent one for your house take all of the matts out of your car, place them on the concrete and clean them same way you would clean your carpets in your house. It doesn't take much time and they will look AMAZING!

Wow! That's a lot of stuff! Don't worry, you don't have to have everything on my list to get a clean car! When I first started cleaning cars I used literally anything I had around the house. I slowly started collecting when I found good deals.
