Did you know that our Father in Heaven is a giver of gifts? Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. (James 1:17-18) The Bible says, "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! "(Matthew 7:11) He is the giver of life and life more abundantly! I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) The Christmas Story of the Birth of Jesus The Christmas story gives us an account of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. What's interesting is that His birth was foretold years before by the prophet Isaiah. "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel . (Isaiah 7:14) Long ago, about 2000 years, when King Herod ruled Judea (now part of Israel), God sent the angel Gabriel to a young woman named Mary who lived in the northern town of Nazareth. Mary was engaged to marry Joseph. "In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid,Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus." Luke 1:26-31 As we celebrate Christmas this season with all of it festivities, don’t forget the One who made it possible for us to celebrate with our family, friends, and nation. God is the giver of everlasting life in Jesus. "the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 What an amazing gift! Published by Dr. A.
