"Partly what we do as humans is to take care of others and contribute to others. This makes life more meaningful, but it does not necessarily make us happy." ~ Roy Baumeister.

The day to day stuff; being a mum, a carer, a dad, a child, a husband, a wife, a partner and a friend can be tough.

It is in this daily grind, the selfless giving of tired individuals, who rarely if ever receive acknowledgement or gratitude, those who continue to give, quite often beyond exhaustion; that we find our true heroes.

The parents of disabled children, who keep on keeping on, volunteers in our communities, folks who give, despite their own best interests; it is these people who show us what life is about.

Contribution. Purpose. What you have to offer the world.

Placing more emphasis on these areas, and noticing these quiet contributors can impact the way we see the world.

Perhaps, your purpose today in this world is not "to be happy", perhaps it is to contribute to the life of another, perhaps not making you happy.  Or perhaps it might.
