she wrote because she had things in her head too frightening to speak of out loud. she wrote because she would explode with urgent, unspoken words if she did not. she had voices in her head. they spoke to her, all at once or not at all. she wrote so she could release them. they would flow through her veins like burning ink, through her fingertips and onto the sweet, sweet release of blank paper.
