The Charles Bridge is the most famous bridge in Prague, crossing the Vltava River. Construction was begun in 1357 under King Charles IV and was finished in the 15th century. Until 1841 it was the only bridge that crossed the river. It’s 621 metres long and 10 metres wide, protected by three towers and has 30 statues. It’s been pedestrian only since 1978.
