I don’t go see movies often, but today I decided to mix things and go see a movie instead of reading most of the day. I was really looking forward to this movie after seeing the trailer and noticing that Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood was the lead, so I decided to step it up and see it in 3D.

The Legend of Tarzan is a fast paced action packed movie with moments of humor thrown in the mix. Instead of the traditional story of Tarzan growing up in the jungle, The Legend of Tarzan picks up 8 years after Tarzan leaves the jungle and marries Jane. You find out about Tarzan’s past of growing up in the Congo and discovering his true identity as Lord John Clayton III through a series of flashbacks experienced by Tarzan/John and Jane.

Tarzan/John is tricked into returning to the jungle under false pretenses by an employ, Leon Rom, of King Leopold of Belgium who has went bankrupt on a loan he took out to explore/mine the Congo. When Jane is kidnapped by Leon, he will do anything and risk everything to get her back.

Alexander Skarsgard was an excellent Tarzan and did not disappoint. It would be hard for him to disappoint when there are so many moments for you to enjoy his shirtless beauty! Samuel L Jackson was a great addition to the movie and provided some comical relief during the rescue attempt of Jane. Overall, I was extremely pleased with The Legend of Tarzan movie and would recommend you see it, if you haven’t already.

Plus you’ll get to see plenty of the shirtless Alexander  Skarsgard!
