See how they grab her unawares

How they rip off her clothing,

The gentle protection of her sensitive skin

How they savage that skin

Exposing parts of her

Never meant to be exposed

Drilling deep into her

Leaving scars everlasting

Then they turn,

Destruction in their wake

And apathy in their eyes

Though others come forth

To kneel beside her,

Restoring her protection

Commencing the slow process

Of healing

Sealing the scars

Marking her body

Do you see what they have done to our Mother?

Our Mother Earth
