(Rom 10:17 [KJV])
So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Did you know that our faith is directly related to us being able to hear? We being able to hear comes directly from the Word of God. Spending time reading, meditating and studying the Word is what will grow, heal and deliver us from all bondage and strongholds.

As a Pastor/shepherd my job is to feed people the Word of God and offer counsel when it is required from the Word. The reason Jesus set up such gifting’s of Pastors and teachers is because of the power that resides within the pages of The Bible.

Let’s look at some more scripture:

(Prov 4:20 [KJV])
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

It’s the Word of God being spoken of there. God wants us to attend to His Word. To attend in the original Hebrew means to prick up the ears, or take heed diligently. This means we are not just to know it in our minds, but to actively pursue Gods truths. We are also taught to incline our ears to be able to hear what is being said. I encourage everyone to find time to sit with The Lord in His Word and allow Him to speak to you. The best counsel a person could ever get is revelation from God Himself to the heart. Pursue and believe for it.

(Prov 4:21 [KJV])
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

To keep the Word in the midst of your heart is to meditate on it… Meditation is Gods idea. You can look around and see the devil try to mimic and take what God designed for truth and change it into a lie. God desires us to meditate on not only His goodness but also His Word. Take scripture and begin rolling it over in your heart and mind, you will begin to see it manifest in your life.

(Prov 4:22 [KJV])
For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

This Word health literally means medicine in the Hebrew. This means as we ingest Gods Word it goes into our bodies and begins to bring healing. Physical, mental and emotional. As we spend time with the Lord our healer we will begin to see victory come into our lives.

(Prov 4:23 [KJV])
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.

In context it is the Word of God that we need to keep in our hearts with all diligence. Watching that the world, distraction, strongholds, sin and other evils don’t snuff out the truth. The only way to keep the Word first place is to spend time continually putting it before us.
I hear from people at different times that it’s legalistic to read the Word daily or to spend time with God every day. This comment is ridiculous. Any relationship needs attention. I’m sure your spouse wouldn’t accept such a silly excuse for not spending time with them. As Christians if we want to be close to God, the only way is through interaction. As often as possible, if not daily. It’s through His Word we will gain wisdom and understanding and it’s through prayer we’ll see things change. You have not because you ask not.

God desires relationship with us. I encourage you to spend daily fellowship with your creator. Let Him know your love for Him and recognise your need for His salvation and wisdom in your life. As you do this expect to see your healing and deliverance? He is an amazing God and His desires over you are only good. Read the Word and learn who you are now you’ve made the decision to be in Covenant with God. He is for you not against you.

Be blessed
