Things to Do in Fall That Doesn't Include Pumpkin Spice Like 0 Twitter Cameo Jonas Follow Oct. 4, 2016, 8:47 a.m. in Life and Styles Views: 640 Like us on facebook The hot summer days have come to an end and you start to feel a cool breeze when you step out your door in the morning. You know what that means... Fall has arrived here in the United States. Recently when people think of fall they think of Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks, but that isn't what fall is all about (not saying there is anything wrong with Pumpkin Spice Lattes). Fall has many other great things to do that people have been overlooking for the Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks. 1. Go Camping I know it sounds crazy to go camping in fall but bear with me. Fall is actually the best time of the year to go camping and that is true for one simple reason, fall has cooler weather than summer but is not freezing cold like winter. Fall provides campers with the warm weather during the day that allows them to do the outdoor activities that they love while providing them with cooler weather at night to snuggle around a warm fire. Camping provides you and your friends with an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, put down your cellphones and just enjoy each others company. Okay, so maybe camping isn't your thing and that is okay, having a bonfire with your close friends will give you the same effect as camping just you get to sleep in your bed when all is said and done. 2. Carve a Pumpkin More pumpkins... Carving a pumpkin during October is one of my favorite pastimes. Pumpkin carving is a great way to get your creative juices flowing because you can carve whatever you want into that orange face, it can be scary face, a black cat or even the logo for your favorite sports team. Whatever you do just have fun with it. Also, save your pumpkin seeds because you can spice those up, throw them in the oven for a nice treat. 3. Go to an Apple Orchard Somewhere along the line people forgot about the best fruit of fall, apples. Apples finally come in season during fall and you can go out and pick your very own apples at your local apple orchard. Apple orchards provide you with a fun activity to do with friends, take cute pictures and maybe even purchase some apple cider to go home and enjoy. 4. Take a Hike Okay that didn't mean to come out as mean as it did. During the fall season, the leaves are changing into the beautiful colors of orange, yellow, and red and there is no better way to enjoy these natural colors than to go take a hike in nature. If you are as lucky as me, you live in East Tennessee where there are plenty of great hiking trails that will take you throughout the Appalachian Mountains. If you live in more of city setting, just a take a walk through your city park or forest preserve and you will be amazed at what you will find just outside your back door. 5. Go on Haunted House Tours What fall and Halloween season would be complete without have the crap scared out of you. Go through a Haunted House with your friends, or better yet your significant other so you have someone to hold on to when you get the bejesus scared out of you. Hopefully one of you will be the brave one. If you have any other fall activities that you like to do with your family and friends please share them here. I always enjoy going out on new adventures.
