My plan is that I will post a short story once a month and three poems every week. It is a simple plan, but it doesn't matter, because "No battle plan survives contact with the enemy." - Helmuth von Moltke  (Although, as an interesting aside, in research for who could actually claim that quote I found that those may not have even been his actual words. They, in fact, followed something like this: “No operation extends with any certainty beyond the first encounter with the main body of the enemy.” Which is a little bit more convoluted as quotes go. One more thing before I continue, I have my own quote to add and it's almost irrelevant: "The best quotes are absolutes." Thank you.) So knowing that it will be interesting to see how all that I have in mind runs away; not that I'll let it do so of course. Already I have printed out some drafts of my short stories, have lists of poems to write for each week and am lining up a novel as well, which may be a little much considering work as well, but I'm sure that - like all things in life - it will work out for the best in the end.

Tomorrow you will find posted here two things: first a poem, and secondly a writing update which will be shared with my usual blogging station at And that will be the start of this blog's (and my writing's) steps towards a better and more frequented future!
