1 Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”  This simple verse has three truths upon which we must form the foundation on our faith.

Firstly, there is one God.  If we accept multiple gods then we must assume none of them is in total control.  The Bible clearly states that there is only one God and it is He who made everything that exists.

Secondly, there is one mediator.  This implies that a mediator, one who stands as a go-between, must exist.  This points us to the reality that there is only one way to approach God.

Thirdly, Jesus is the mediator.  It is only through Him and His shed blood that we are able to come into communion with God.  We have to understand there are not many paths that lead to the same God.  There is only one path that leads to the one true God and His name is Jesus.

It is the acceptance or rejection of these truths that will determine our eternal home.  An eternal home with the one true God can only be obtained through the mediator, Christ Jesus.
