Beautiful, successful and healthy people do certain things upon waking, and so should the rest of us if we want to improve our lives. What are you doing upon waking up? Probably checking your phone - your email, weather and social media. And what should you do? The first thing you make in the morning sets the tone for the day. Although there's no right way to wake up, there are definitely some good, healthy habits to start your day.

DRINK WATER

The first thing you should do every morning when you wake up is to drink a huge glass of water. Keep another glass next to your coffee too. While sleeping, we lose water through breathing and we don't replenish it for seven or more hours. Women with healthy and glowing skin say that we need to drink at least 30 ounces by 8 a.m. every day.

FUEL YOUR BODY

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Healthy food is of a great importance for a productive day. When you skip breakfast, your body conserves energy, your metabolism slows down and you have less energy throughout the day. You may need more or fewer calories for breakfast that other people, but the most important thing to remember is that everyone should eat something. For instance, you can eat oatmeal sprinkled with cinnamon and almonds, berries and yogurt, and a cup of tea for breakfast.

DETOXIFY YOURSELF OF TECHNOLOGY

As we open the eyes we reach for the phone and check our social networks and emails. Starting your day reaching for your phone is a bad habit and far from desirable. It disconnects us from the present moment and plunges us immediately into the world of obligations. Pressing on the phone or laptop in the morning is like pressing a stress button. So try not to look at your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter or at your emails before completing each step of your routine.

MORNING ROUTINES FOR MOMS

If you have kids you probably find it difficult to keep a perfect morning routine. We have a 30-minute routine that is doable if you plan ahead.

GET UP BEFORE THE KIDS. You need to be up before your kids by at least 30 min. You will be happier when you get some time to focus and relax before your energetic kids wake up.

LEMON WATER. A glass of lemon water in the morning will give you an energy boost, help flush the body of waste that accumulated overnight, promote clear skin and good digestion. Lemon water will give you a boost of energy and make you less likely to want to go back to bed.

PRAY, MEDITATE OR JOURNAL + NATURAL LIGHT. Focusing your thoughts on meditation, journaling and pray can help you gain direction and prepare you for the chaos when the children wake up. You can do this in your yard - it will balance the adrenals and correct cortisol levels.

EXERCISE. Some easy exercises will help get your blood flowing. Taking your dog for a walk, rebounding or stretching - do different exercises every morning to have more energy for the rest of the day.

SHOWER. Try to shower before the kids wake up because you won't have time the rest of the day. Dry brush your skin for a softer skin and energy boost.

SET GOALS. Write down the most important things that must be done that day, so you can tackle them first. Sometimes, they are simple as writing an article or washing the dishes, but writing these tasks down really helps them get done quickly.
