Marijohn Wilkin and Kris Kristofferson penned the song ‘One Day at a Time’.  Part of the chorus says, “Lord help me today, show me the way one day at a time.”  There is a lot to be said for being able to live one day at a time, but often people say it as a desperate plea; God, if I can only get through this day.  On bad days some people’s worries and cares become so burdensome that they feel the need to plea, Lord help me get through this hour.  Sadly, many people get to this point at some time in their life.

1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (NIV)  A wonderful piece of advice, but sometimes hard to carry out.  The key is realizing who God is and understanding what things He is capable of doing.  Once we can see Him as all knowing and all powerful, it will become easier to cast all our cares at His feet and know He will take care of them.  Then the challenge becomes to not pick them back up again after He has disposed of them.
