It has been a while since your latest season concluded and Chris Evans stepped down as the host. Viewers complained: he is too loud, he is trying too hard to be Jeremy Clarkson. Your ratings plummeted, critics thrashed Top Gear. It could not have been simple for the makers: losing Jeremy Clarkson and then Richard Hammond, James May. Having to redesign the show and incorporating new hosts Matt LeBlanc, Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris and Rory Reid.

I am not going to complain, I actually liked the show. I am surprised as well; I didn't expect new Top Gear to be as good as it was. I am a fan of Top Gear for the last couple of years. Every single episode I watched, I laughed at the absurdity of the trio: Clarkson, Hammond, May. Sting drove the cars around the track with precision that I watched agog. Even the celebrities on the show-which I think was the worst part of the entire show in the previous seasons- was somewhat bearable.

Now, new season and new hosts: it was enjoyable. No, I didn't laugh at Chris Evans' attempts at humor. I did however enjoy Matt LeBlanc's jokes. As the series progressed, it was apparent that Evans was going to quit as Matt featured more prominently during the segments. The other hosts were enjoyable too: they presented cars as professional car reviewers. However, the show seemed less Top Gear and more like BBC's Fifth Gear.

Regardless, I didn't stop watching each episode. I had fun when new cars were presented: I absolutely loved the new Tesla Model X. I missed the Top Gear Specials as if they were the highlight of every season. I don't know if the producers themselves were dubious of the hosts capabilities but I would have loved to see Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc have a huge, difficult road trip across a continent. However, I await the next season as I have come to love Top Gear for the show.
