The comedian Tommy Smothers once said ‘truth is whatever you can convince people to believe it is’.  In our day this is becoming increasingly true.

In recent years there have been a number movies made that are based on the Bible.  Unfortunately many people feel that since the movie, or TV show, is based on the Bible it is an accurate representation of what the Bible says.  Sometimes nothing could be further from the truth.  How do we then know if these representations are accurate?  There is only one way to know for sure.  That is to read the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (KJV)  Reading will not only show us the accuracy of these shows, but it will also bring us closer to God.  As we read, He can use His Word to correct us and bring us closer to the person He wants us to be.

I would challenge you to find even 5 minutes per day to read the Bible and establish a routine that will draw you closer to Him.
