Turmeric has always been a gemstone as far as cooking goes. This mustard-colored spice offers a very unique and uncommon to every food in which this is added. However, what many people don’t know is that turmeric happens to be one of the best beauty remedies.

  1. Dark Circles: Put 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, two tablespoons of water and some cucumber juice (optional) and mix them together. Apply the paste on your under eye area and leave on for 5-10 min. Rinse with lukewarm water and repeat every day. Soon you will note a big difference on your dark circles, as they will have been significally lightened and brightened.
  2. Acne & Breakouts: Add some turmeric, milk (or yoghurt) and a teaspoon of honey and watch your face transforming tremendously! The turmeric has acne-fighting properties, while the milk and honey will help your face not to stain from the spice’s yellow colour and moisturise your face.Leave on for 30-40 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Acne will be reduced, acne scars will fade gradually and the face will be brighter than ever.
  3. Teeth: If you love smiling but your teeth look less white and bright as you would like, turmeric saves the day once again! Add less than 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of water and optionally some baking soda,apply with a clean toothbrush the way you would normally brush your teeth and leave on for 5 minutes the most. Finally, rinse with lots of water and brush off any excess that may have stayed on you teeth.Ta-Da!
  4. Facial Massage: Massage with your fingers making upward moves using some olive oil. Then, apply your facial mask including turmeric, gram flour, milk and beetroot juice and keep massaging. Repeat once a week and your skin will be firmer and more glowing than ever.
  5. Herpes and Fever Blister: Anxiety, stress and even air pollution can cause herpes or fever blister, which is rather annoying especially when you have places to go. Create a paste with turmeric and water and place it on the herpes with a swab. Do this 3 times a day for no more than 3 days and the object of your worries will fly away!
