What do you know; one of my top ten books to be adapted may actually be adapted.

I09 reports that Tamora Pierce’s Tortall Universe has been optioned for a television adaptation.  I’ve previously championed the original series from the universe, Song of the Lioness, as a good choice for adaptation.

The Fandom reveals that Juno Dawson’s Hollow Pike will also be made into a TV series.  The book started strong, with a Mean Girls meets The Craft vibe, but kind of ran out of steam.  Dawson’s second book, Cruel Summer, is never quite as interesting as the beginning of Hollow Pike, but thankfully it also doesn’t tail off like Pike.

We have casting news for the One of us is Lying show, thanks to Epic Reads.

The CW is looking to stick with success, considering a prequel for The 100 as well as a new Superman show.  It might seem like the CW really doesn’t need another superhero show, but Arrow I coming to an end and the other shows may start to disappear as well.

NBC is looking at a potentially interesting show, inspired by legendary author HG Wells.  Wellsville takes place on a mysterious island, bringing to mind The Island of Dr. Moreau, though it’s not clear if the show is specifically adapting that novel.

The Fandom notes that recent spooky book Rules For Vanishing, has been optioned for a television adaptation.  Author Kate Alice Marshall’s first book has also been optioned for adaptation.

I09 reveals an upcoming television series adapting the Point Horror anthology series, written by numerous authors such as R.L. Stine.  Could this series, as well as the Fear Street movies, lead to my long hoped for a TV series adapting the Fear Street books?

Finally, we have a report from Nerdbot that the House of Night series, from P.C. and Kristen Cast, is set to make the leap to TV.  I wasn’t a fan of the Cast’s recent book, but I might still check this out.
