American retailer Nordstrom will stop selling the controversial Ivanka Trump brand this season, a move that follows boycott threats and concerns about the first daughter's conflict of interests. The department store chain made the decision based on sales, the Seattle based company said, it offers thousands of brands and cuts about 10 percent each year depending upon how well they perform.

In this case, based on the brands performance, we have decided not to buy it for this season a company spokesman said. The retailer has come under fire from the Grab Your Wallet campaign, a critic of the current administration, which is asking shoppers to boycott retailers that carry Ivanka or Donald Trump goods.

Mr Trumps business also has drawn criticism for blurring the lines between brand promotion and politics.

The Racked Fashion website last week reported that the products had begun disappearing from Nordstrom's  e - commerce selection. The Grab Your Wallet campaign declared victory for helping prompt the move.

The Nordstrom company had heard rumours from customers threatening to boycott the store if they continued it's relationship with Ms Trump.

This is a sharply divisive subject, no matter what Nordstrom do, they are going to disappoint some customers. Every single brand that Nordstrom stock is evaluated on their results, if people don't buy it then Nordstrom will not sell it.
