The ability to have additional content fields is one of the most important abilities to have available for your directory and your classified sites. With content fields or content field groups, it allows you to add information to any of your directory listings. This ability can improve your site’s functionality, its searchability, and its overall usability for you and your website. Content fields typically are used as a part of the search and sorting of listings. The ability to search and sort listings is an important feature that is not traditionally found in many other script sites. The Web 2.0 Directory plugin at its core is dedicated to providing you superior functionality through greater access and searchability.

The fields have many different functionalities.  Each field is defined by its own behavior and the view of a content field. Content fields are typically under the type name content and have two or three important functional aspects. The first is that it is a core filled. When you install you will notice that there are five core field types and all of them are content fields. Core fields are special in their designation not only because they are cores, but also because it is impossible to delete these fields.

It's important for these core fields to be non-deletable as doing so would seriously impair or damage the operations of your site. However, with wordpress directory plugin we are big believers that our clients should have the ability to do what they like down to the smallest level and although it is impossible to delete these, it is possible to disable the content fields on the listing settings tabs.

If you decide that you wanted to disable some or all of the content fields you could simply go to the listing settings tab, followed by enable listings tab input at the front end. This will all be under your general settings control tab.

In addition to these different functions, the plugin can be used to create specialized custom template files for each of the content fields. These customized templates can be used with the custom template files instead of the native templates. This feature enhances the functionality and usability on what is traditionally a difficult to access and work with piece of scripting.

With the Web 2.0 Directory plugin, we seek to make accessibility and functionality easy.
