'A classic celebration of childhood, A. A. Milne’s When We Were Very Young is a collection of poems that have touched the hearts of readers for more than 90 years. The verses sing with a playful innocence, weaving together the worlds of reality and enchanting make-believe. Published two years before Winnie-the-Pooh, careful readers will also discover the very first appearance of the Best Bear in All the World. These treasured poems are perfectly matched by Ernest Shepard's whimsical illustrations, which have delighted countless readers.

These poems have been read and re-read to generations of children, and today, they can still find a cherished place on every bookshelf.'

This book was beautiful.

The wonderful collection was an absolute joy to read. As it was written before Winnie-the-Pooh, none of the characters from the actually stories feature in these poems. I though I would miss not reading about the characters I love so much, but the poems were so beautiful, I didn't even notice.

As with the previous book in this collection, this book was filled with E.H. Sheppard's wonderful illustrations. I loved looking at all of the illustrations and how they connected with the poems.

I can easily see how some of these poems were added to music. They had a real lyrical quality to them. The way they were written made it really easy to follow and enjoy. The poems just flowed over me as I was reading, and I didn't want them to end.

Luckily for me there is another collection of poetry in this series, and after reading this book and loving it so much, I am more excited then ever to jump into the final book in this collection.

This book is the perfect addition to an already amazing collection of books.

When We Were Very Young by A.A. Milne is a must have for all bookshelves.
