Jeremiah 22When You “Know” God You Act Like God

If only our world could “know” God then many of the world’s problems would disappear. “He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the Lord really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.” [Micah 6:8] And basically this was the message Jeremiah had for the king.

Jeremiah, God’s spokesman, stood before the king and reminded him to “think” about his father Josiah. “He was content that he had food and drink. He did what was just and right. So things went well with him. He upheld the cause of the poor and needy. So things went well for Judah.”

When we do as we read in Micah and do as Jeremiah counseled the king, it will go well not only for us but for our nation. Finally, Jeremiah reminded the king “That is a good example of what it means to “KNOW” me.”

As believers in Christ “we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea through us” [2Co 5:20] We represent God here on earth and we do it by the very things Jeremiah highlighted for the king. Jesus said: “go and make disciples.” As we are going we are ambassadors for Him and we do as He would.

Today, remember to be Christ’s ambassador as you are going.
