This week I am staying with my best friend, as we prepare for his wedding. So like good besties we are watching The View and pretending that we are sitting at the table with the ladies. Of course since I'm a writer when Whoopi Goldberg made her grand announcement that she wasn't leaving, I needed to write the post as fast as possible.

During a discussion about Harambe, the gorilla that was killed because a mother wasn't watching her child, the discussion turned to The Daily Mail. The contempt that Whoopi feels for that paper was palpable. She told the audience that she had been a victim of their alleged bad reporting. Then she added "I'm not going anywhere. I will tell you when I go somewhere." More than likely she is hoping to get rid of the rumors about a turbulent situation behind the scenes.

What she seems to be forgetting is that Barbra Walters really killed the credibility of co-hosts saying that they aren't going anywhere. Anyone who has watched the show can cite Babs herself, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd, and I'm sure there are more but those are the ones that spring to mind. That is not to say that Whoopi is lying but when there's smoke there is usually a fire.

While there have been a few reports of Whoopi signing a new contract, no major media has covered the story. Again not to say she didn't, I'm not her or her business manager but it is odd that a source like Radar or Entertainment Weekly haven't said anything. Maybe the want to keep it quiet but there is severe doubt on my part. For months on end there were reports that she was leaving amid tension with execs from ABC News and her fellow cohosts. Maybe they all worked out their differences?

What do you think?
