Someone asked me the other day why I love summer so much. It actually made me stop and think. Yes, I knew it was my favourite season, but when it came down to pinpointing why, I really had to think through my answer to figure out just why it made me so happy.

It’s hard not to feel euphoric when the sun warms up your skin, soaking into your insides and filling your body with light. When it gives you a sun kissed glow and a permanent smile.

When the air is warm and the water warmer, the drinks are colder and the music louder. The days are longer and the people are better. When you can spend all day engulfed in the sea and no one can bring you down.

You can feel the sand in your toes and the salt air in your hair. You can feel the summery smoothie fill your stomach with a satisfying envelopment.

On top of that, I am a water-skier, so summer is prime time for my sport! The long days spent at the lake surrounded by positive, supportive people all there for the same reason as you, to share your love of watersports.

Summer is the time when the air con is blasting, the clothes are minimal, and inspiration is all around.

I have made a vow to myself that I will document this summer in a way I never have before. In excruciating detail to capture every one of the best moments of the three months that only seem to fly by.

I want to remember my summers as the best times of my life, because truly, my favourite memories from my whole life all belong in summer, and I never want that to change.
