I'm not sure which is worse. Writing a first draft or editing it. Right now, I'm leaning towards editing. I'm in need of some serious motivation to finish (and by finish I mean start) editing a short story. I'm hoping to enter a writing contest and the deadline is midnight on Saturday. Yeah. This Saturday as in 2 days from now. (In my defense, I found out about the contest yesterday). I've made a few minor changes to my story, but I don't know if that's enough. I don't want to submit it "as is" either. I want to be taken seriously as a writer so the fewer typos, inconsistencies, etc. the better. That and it coats money to submit so I want to provide the best version of the story as I can. I've been putting off submitting anything for a long time now, so I feel like I need to enter this one. If for no other reason than to prove to myself that I'm trying to make writing a career and not just a hobby.
