In the Bible, from the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 11 verse 4 to 6 reading from New International version, it says, “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.” The same passage in Living Bible version or translation, it says, “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. God’s ways are as mysterious as the pathway of the wind and as the manner in which a human spirit is infused into the little body of a baby while it is yet in its mother’s womb. Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will grow—perhaps it all will.”

This is one of the reasons why I like to read the Bible. There are some scriptures that are very encouraging and can speak to you when you really need to hear it the most. How encouraging this Bible passage is to us.

Have you ever been in a place where you wonder whether what I am doing is ever going to get me where I expect to take me? Be honest now…hahaha?

As the Bible passage says, ‘God’s ways are mysterious.’ Meaning that you never know when is going to be your turn to shine. You never know whatever you are sowing today how big is going to turn out for you. You never know which project you are working on is going to creating bigger doors for you.

For instance; I was listening to the famous Steve Harvey this other day, and he said that he didn’t know his famous book that he has written ‘Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man,’ was going to turn into a mega star movie, and  help a lot of people, but also to generate a lot of things for him. According to him the inspiration came because of his love for his daughters and from what he taught them that he knew about men, but also what he has learned from his two failed marriages. But then he discovered that he has more daughters, cousins, and nieces out there. Therefore, that was the turning point for him to decided to take that information and turned into a book.

He also said that he started out as a Comedian, and that was it. He never planned on hosting a Radio Show, a Game Show, or hosting a Daytime Talk Show, writing books, or making movies. All of those doors were opened because he was never afraid to reinvent himself.

He just kept on sowing seeds by using his God’s given gifts and his specific areas of strengths to make a difference in the world, and all these other doors began to open for him.

He is just one example. Another one for instance, is the famous J. K. Rowling, the author of the ‘Harry Potter’ fantasy series which also turn into mega star movies. She started as a Novelist, but then big doors opened for her. She is currently not only the Novelist, but also screenwriter and film producer. Her recent net-worth is estimated to be $ 1 Billion.

So, God works in mysterious ways. This Bible passage says keep sowing seeds, for you never know which will grow to take you where you are to somewhere, a better place perhaps, somewhere far beyond your imagination.

The key here is to keep on sowing seeds even when the conditions are not perfect for us to do so. The Bible passage says, ‘Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle.’  Even in the evenings also known as the days where we are facing hardships of some kind, when we are not sure if our seeds are working or not, and therefore facing doubts, we are supposed to keep sowing. We should not let our hands be idle. We should do something. It could be we need to put fertilizer on our seeds or water them, change something that needs to be changed or change the seeds, plant more seeds, reinventing ourselves, and keep on going forward. We have got to keep creating, involving, and putting ourselves out there. We never know which seeds will grow – perhaps it all will. We should never wait for perfect conditions. Besides, it’s better to keep on sowing than to do nothing …right?

Some people have been blessed with so many gifts, talents, skills, or specific strengths. They can act, sing, write, paint, cook, and all other things that we can do. So, if you love both of them, and you focused on one and it didn’t work, then you can pick another one and start working on that one. Chances are if not all, there is one that will work and open more doors for you. And the only way to know what it is can be to keep on sowing, keep on pursuing your goals, and dreams.

One thing I have also learned is that to never despise even the small beginnings or your baby steps. Baby steps count too as long as we keep on going forward. One day we are all going to look back and be amazed of how far we have come to achieving our goals and living our dreams. We have seen the examples of Steve Harvey and J.K. Rowling.

In the Bible, from the book of Galatians chapter 9 verse 6, Apostle Paul said, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Our job is to believe that God is able, He works in mysterious ways, and He make ways and open big doors for us, far beyond our imagination. I think God wants us to believe Him and have faith, more than to understand His ways and all His works. In the book of Isaiah chapter 55 verse 9 it says that “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are God’s ways higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts.”

So, if we keep on sowing in due season we shall reap what we sow, perhaps more. Only God knows the size of the harvest we are going to reap, when and where we are going to reap it or them.
