iPhone X was eventually released in 2017 and was a massive hit for the company as it featured the first-in-class face unlock along with bezel-less display and many more.
However, iPhone X was not that perfect as it also debuted a few issues which were specific to the redesign. Fortunately, there were workarounds and fixes for most of them. Where some problems depended on which version of iOS you are running while others require special workarounds or intervention from Apple.
So, here are some of the design flaws and defects that iPhone X users had encountered and attempt to solve them. While if your phone needs any sort of repair then you can take it to any iPhone repair Daly City.
Face ID Won’t Work
First and foremost problem that iPhone X users are complaining is about the TrueDepth camera and Face ID. Just like Touch ID on older devices, Face ID sometimes doesn’t work at all.
In order to prevent this issue, one thing that you can do is to make sure to wipe the “notch” on your iPhone regularly. That is because, it contains an array of sensors, cameras, and projectors which must be able to see you clearly in order to work.
The second thing you can do is that is scan your face in a well-lit area as scanning in low light areas isn’t accurate as scanning in daylight. If you have changed your appearance significantly or you are having persistent Face ID recognition issues then just head to settings-Face Id & passcode and choose Reset Face ID and then install a new face in order to unlock your phone.
Accidentally Taking a Lot of Screenshots
As the iPhone X doesn’t have a home button which simply means that you cannot take a screenshot by pressing home+power button. Instead, you need to press volume up+side button to take a screenshot on your iPhone X, this shortcut can be easily get triggered in your pocket of when holding the device.
However, there is no way to change the shortcut which means the only solution to this problem is a workaround. Where else, you can get yourself a case with a recessed side button which prevents you from triggering the shortcut.
Screen Issues
The iPhone X uses an OLED display which is the first in its class. Unfortunately, it comes with its share of issues as well.
There are some users that have noticed a slight shift in color hue when moving the display. On their website, Apple says that, if you look at an OLED display from different angles then you will notice slight shifts in color and hue. This is not a problem, in fact, it is a characteristic of OLED.
Screen Burn
This is another problem that many users are facing. Screen burn refers to a persistent image getting stuck on-screen, even after that image is no longer being displayed. Apple recommends some tips to avoid screen burn:
- Ensuring auto-brightness is enabled.
- Choose auto-lock time of 30 or 60 seconds.
- Avoid displaying static images for extended periods, particularly at maximum brightness.
Phone Call and Touch Screen Delay
In the earlier versions of IOS 11, there were 2 issues detected, first was an issue with calls where the screen would light up and your ringtone would but the answer or decline call prompt never appeared.
Secondly, the other issue mostly affected users in cold climate. The touchscreen of iPhone X would become unresponsive when encountering a sudden drop in temperature.
However, Apple fixed both the issues via software update. Although, if you are still getting such issues with your iPhone X then you can take it to any iPhone repair store in San Francisco to get it fixed.
