Beep. Beep. Beep.
Red flickered from the corner of her optic. She couldn’t tell what it was from. The last thing she remembered was being attacked by a mech twice her size, grabbing her sister by the servo and then getting into a stasis pod, watching her frame levels drop.
Everything after that had gone black as her frame was forced to shut itself down for her own protection. She didn’t know about anything that happened after that. There were short intervals when she thought she was regaining consciousness only to see blurry figures behind the pod’s glass before it frosted back up and sent her back into a stasis-like state.

“No. Not yet.”
“We can’t keep them under forever.”
“Just a little longer. I want to know more first.”
“This is a bad idea.”

“And you’ll never believe this but they have oil here. It’s not as good as energon, but it’s still pretty tasty. I can’t have any though. Not until I’m old enough yet. Hey, how old are you two?”

“I swear one of these cycles, I’m going to retire. I’m sorry kids. I know this isn’t fair but try and bear with it a little longer.”

“They call it art. It’s kind of tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a little easier. Oh, and you need the right size tools for it. I think you’d enjoy it, Blue.”

“They’re super-fast! Not as fast as me, but close enough. I’m not saying that it’s as good as Velocitron, but it’s still pretty close. Do you ever want to go there?”

“It should be a crime. I’m sorry.”

“Who are you two?”
***
“Soon. I promise.”

“What are you hiding?”

“Did you know dinosaurs existed on this planet? They’re kind of like Dinobots. Weird, huh?”

“Let them out. It’s time we got some answers.”
“About time.”
The pods opened for the first time.
