I’m a writer and blogger of children’s books with a background in psychology and a love of creating things. I’ve dubbed this blog An Open Book as it’s a story of human emotion. It’s about the eclectic array of emotions encountered when embarking on something new. I’m telling it from the candid perspective of someone who loves to write, wants to write, feels the need to write and is striving for that illusive title of published children’s author without any insider contacts or previous experience. I don’t know what my writing future holds. I may fall flat on my face, I may look like a fool but if I don’t try I will never know. This blog is for anyone wanting to explore what makes them tick, discover and accept who they are; find the courage to be themselves, follow their hearts, laugh at their mistakes and learn to deal with the consequences.
As a mum of two boys I transform into a full-time writing addict whilst they’re at school. I live in the UK and my experience to date is gradually expanding. I’ve been writing my Books for Children Blog since October 2014; a place where I reserve my little space on the internet for parents like me to discover bookish news, reviews, crafts and events for children as well as getting creative with how to encourage our children to read and write. I’m also heavily involved in writing and editing the blog, the web content, newsletter and handbooks for the martial arts academy Storm Gym. So with the launch of this third blog on My Trending Stories I think I can now safely say I’m totally immersed in the world of blogging! I see blogging as my training ground for writing; hence the unknown road to publication... and that’s where this next chapter begins.
