I've worn many costumes in my 30 years of life. I honestly couldn't tell you who I am. Who could? I think I sum it up better in the poem "I, Me and She" than I ever could in prose. The majority of my work is hosted on my website antiparrot, as I am new to My Trending Stories. I will be sharing on here a mixture of new work and things from the archives. If you like my work, follow me on here, or check out antiparrot, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for regular updates. My Pinterest account has several boards on mental health and personality disorders that might be of interest, and finally, I'm on Google+,and Linkedin if you REALLY want to stalk me.
My art and writing are primarily about mental health, drawing on personal and professional experience. I have Borderline Personality Disorder and consider myself a positive mental health advocate. I have a PhD in Psychology (which is nowhere near as cool as it sounds!). I am an art school dropout (and proud of it) and have been known to dabble in theatre as well as mental health and science public engagement and outreach.
I am passionate about destigmatisation of mental health difficulties and use of arts for communication and catharsis at times of mental struggle. I believe strongly that (whilst I would never glamourise mental illness), the struggles that I face because of mine have also greatly enhanced my artwork.
On a lighter note, I love coffee, hazelnut milk, sunbathing, kittens, soft things, playing in parks, driving, cake, adult sized ball pools and soft play centres, trampolines, singing (badly), eating jelly and being naughty.
