1Peter 3 “Social Media’s 3 Musts”
Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, and more. Social Media has taken us by storm and now everyone who is anyone seems to have their opinion on any subject. Some comments make us blush, some make us love more and some we should just plain ignore. It matters not whether we “know” the author of the post, we have become judge and jury all rolled into one. But, what if we applied the principles Peter gives us?
“Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but instead bless because you were called to inherit a blessing. If you want to love life and see good days you…
- “MUST” keep your tongue from evil and keep your lips from uttering deceit
- “MUST” turn away from evil and DO good
- “MUST” seek peace and pursue it”
When we return evil for good we are using the devil’s tools. When we return good for good Jesus’ question comes back to us: “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?” [Luke 6] But if we return good for evil we are exhibiting the mercy of God to those who don’t deserve it…just as we do not.
Today as you wander up and down the social media tools stop and think:
T-Is it true?
H-is it helpful
I-Is it inspiring?
N-Is it necessary?
K-Is it kind?
